Steven, a proud father of, Nikola and Kristofer, was born on the Dalmatian coastline in Zadar, Croatia. The son and grandson of builders, Steven is the third generation builder and decided to follow in his family's footsteps. As a third generation builder, instilled with two generations of work ethics and sense of professionalism, Steven entered the trade in 1986 and became a member of the New York City Carpenters Union, Local Union 157. After finishing his four year apprenticeship, Steven quickly became an accomplished finish carpenter. Rising through the ranks from apprentice to journeyman, Steven became a shop steward for the carpenters union. After serving many years as a shop steward in the union and watching companies start up with less knowledge and know-how, Steven decided to take his expertise as a detailed finish master carpenter and open his own business. Inspired by a tradition of family, N&K Interiors, Inc. was named to honor Nikola and Kristofer. _____________________________________________________________ That is how N & K Interiors, Inc has grown into what it is today.
